Inaugural Ball Debate Ends With No Action
Congress adjourned for holiday recess with no decision on inaugural ball plans. The District of Columbia Committee faced opposition from Rep Mann over a proposed clause granting authority to raise cab fares during the inauguration. Morrell supported the Pension Office route, while concerns about quorum and the building used for the event left the matter unsettled until January.
