Flames Devour Five Homes Damaging District Buildings
Fire swept the wholesale commission district on the north side of Louieiana avenue between Ninth and Penth streets northwest. Five large buildings burned, smoke and water damage to nearby property. No casualties. Total loss may reach 75000 dollars, largely insured. Majestic theater saved by firefighters. Crowd surged as arrests followed. Fire raged all day.
