Paid Sons of Hutchins Higher Fare in Effect

In a probate court trial, trustee William J. Dante testified about payments from Stilson Hutchins estate to his sons Lee and Walster Stilson Hutchins from May 1899 to April 1912, while Lee Hutchins seeks to overturn the will claiming lack of sound mind. Dante said payments totaled about 1.88, paid after Hutchins left for Europe in 1899. Hutchins later left New London amid alleged abuse by family members. The trial resumes today. Commuters must pay more as Interstate Commerce Commission denies suspending higher fares on Pennsylvania routes and similar increases on western territory routes become effective at midnight. The ICC cautions that travelers may challenge the schedules in formal proceedings.
