Chauncey Olcott in Terence at the Columbia Theater
Chauncey Olcott stars in Terence at the Columbia Theater delivering songs and charm in an Irish romantic drama. The play, adapted from Mrs. Crocker, relies on Olcott’s voice and brogue, while Miss Marguerite Hayden plays the leading sweetheart and child actors add charm. The piece is visually pleasing with four pretty acts and lights, though one moon scene in the third act stands out as a minor flaw. Also featured is David Harum at Lafayette Theater, with the horse trade and deacon scenes drawing laughs in a annual visit. A brief item notes Electric Bitters offering relief for dyspepsia, with a one-page advertisement line.
