Waggaman Named Defendant in Foreclosure Suit

A foreclosure action was filed in the District Supreme Court by John T Bysinn and John Brown against Thomas Waggaman and others over a deed of trust on thirty two city lots belonging to the Lenthal estate. The trust was created January 4 1941 by James B Nicholson to secure notes totaling 46900 dollars with several notes of 1000 dollars and others. Eight thousand dollars of notes held by Byrne and eighty eight hundred dollars by Brown are cited. The deed of trust lists Thomas Waggeman and Williamson as trustees with Williamson also named as a defendant, along with James Nicholson, the Sisters of the Visitation, and others owning or claiming notes. The complainants allege notes dated October 1911 predate the deed and that Wiggeman misrepresented the security. The property is appraised at 5000 dollars with potential gross income around 7500 per month. Taxes for the year ending June 3 appear unpaid. Waggaman is declared bankrupt. The suit seeks to enforce the first trust against portions of the described property. Attorneys D H Thomas and Triston & Sridons represent the complainants.

Forged Seals and a Maryland Judgment Barrage Case

Harrison Wagner, a 62 year old man long known as a terror in Maryland, was arrested in Washington for forging seals of the Maryland secretary of state and for a quarter century of tampering with judgments. Investigators traced thousands of dollars in defaulted claims and hundreds of court records from 1878 to 1883, many against residents who knew nothing of him. Wagner reportedly hoarded documents and three official seals, claiming排列 that Justice of the Peace John Haynes and Secretary Edwin Le Compte sent the seals. He faced post office inspectors and detectives in a search of his Sixth Street residence, where authorities recovered the seals and a mountain of papers.
