Utility Bill Seeks April Report Deadline Change
A draft bill amends the public utilities law to shift the annual report deadline from February 1 to April 1. The Public Utilities Commission sent the proposal to Representative Ben Johnson, seeking introduction and passage. The change aims to give utilities more time to close books and prepare balance sheets amid frequent requests for 3 to 60 day extensions. The commission also provided a bill to repeal the act restricting street car motormen from operating cars without vestibules after March 3, 195.
