Protests by Western beef packers over Europe consignats

Protests from American exporters especially Western beef packers against American consignors to Europe held up by British authorities were discussed yesterday at a conference in Forling-Rose featuring the British Ambassador and State Department Counselor Larsturg. The debate touched on consigning ships “to order” and possible relief for vessels detained with central countries. The State Department insisted on the precept that contraband wares in neutral bottoms to neutrals remain exempt from interference. Separately, plaza awards commission work continued as it prepares to finalize compensation for condemned property before Christmas, with hearings to set valuations and President approval in the sequence.
