Health measures push Congress money for segregated tuberculosis classrooms
The Board of Education, following Supt. Stuart, plans to ask Congress for funds to establish separate schoolrooms and hire teachers for consumptive pupils. The plan, urged by Miss Ruth Rizer, would isolate 60 afflicted pupils and prevent contagion in District schools. The Smithsonian led George Washington Day buttons plan was approved to fund a memorial hall, with 16 cent bricks purchased by students.
