Rule to show cause in Kimball case spurs appeal bid
The Court of Appeals issued a rule requiring Judge Ivory G Kimball to show cause why he should not sign a bill of exceptions for Benjamin Lenovitz whose conviction for keeping a disorderly house is under appeal. Returnable December 7, the order stems from the petition by John Ridout and Campbell Carrington, Lenovitz’s attorneys. In Garfield Park a new two story school for colored pupils was dedicated amid remarks praising sanitary school progress.
