Tiny radio receiver weighs only one tenth ounce
Newark man John C. Weir, supervisor at Eagle Radio Company, built a working radio receiver weighing one tenth of an ounce from a regulation binding post. The firm offers a five tube Eagle Neutrodyne prize to anyone making a set smaller and invites entries by September 18 to the contest department in Newark. All entries will be shown at the Radio World’s Fair in Madison Square Garden opening September 22. Weir also crafted miniature sets in a walnut shell, a wife’s thimble, and a Yinger ring, all as crystal detector sets that work with headphones.
