Vacations Given 1100 Babies as Fresh Air Fund Camps Close
Eleven hundred mothers and children enjoyed two weeks of fresh air and good food at the Fresh Air Fund camps, totaling 42 years of care. Camps Good Will and Pleasant closed after a record season with a waiting list and some beds improvised in bathtubs. Henry Lansburgh will sustain fundraising to keep the program going, and next year capacity will rise to help even more sick babies and mothers. Washington diet kitchen nurses will continue followups to maintain gains after camp.
