Dr John E Ruebsam a 70 year old physician and physical culture teacher was found collapsed in his office at 817 Fourteenth street NW with a pistol and blood but doctors at Emergency Hospital found no wound. Two letters were left for his daughter Elise Ruebsam and for Coroner Nevitt detailing alleged pain from abdominal and back ailments and his intent to end his suffering. He had left home earlier that day telling his daughter he would write letters and not return for supper.
