Bakers Fined for Fight Over Trade Relations
Demetra Baking Company and Sparta Bakery faced tensions as Peter Georgiades and Anastasios Georgandeas were fined five dollars each in police court for fighting. Attorney Soterios Nicholaon filed a District Supreme Court suit to bar Sparta Bakery and Georgandeas from interfering with Demetra, seeking peace for Georgandeas. Georgandeas, once with Demetra and partners, reportedly joined Sparta, diverting trade from Demetra as fights erupted after Georgandeas arrived early with a Sparta wagon delivering to Demetra customers.
