The District of Columbia Maryland and nearby areas face partly cloudy cool conditions with a pattern of moderate northeast winds and possible showers in Virginia. A tropical storm inland in eastern Texas brings high winds and heavy rains with diminishing intensity. Texas coastal reports note missing Galveston messages. Heavy rain and high pressure systems drive much of the cold trend from the upper Mississippi valley to the Atlantic as ใน the plateau and mountain areas heat remains variable. Local readings show midnights near 70 and highs around upper 70s, with a 104 degree hot spot at Brownsville and a generally cool two day forecast ahead.
