Impressions of Scotch Twelfth and Monocle Hostage of Henshaw
The letter and diary excerpts describe Percival Monocle and John P Henshaw visiting Dunoon and Argyll for a Twelfth shooting party. Henshaw, eccentric and carefree, clashes with Scottish hosts Lachlan McLachlan and McPherson bookcase friends. A mix of travel, whisky, kirk bets, and comic mishaps unfolds as they rail at American pretensions while enjoying Highland hospitality and local figures.
