Injury to Wheat Continues Across Spring Areas
Damage from light and rust on late sown spring wheat extended into northwestern Montana and northern regions, though cooler weather reduced spread. The Weather Bureau noted weekly trap conditions and rainfall benefits varied by state, with corn prospects failing in Kansas and Oklahoma due to drought while Texas saw mixed results as rainfall aided others.

Court weighs power of rail probe and other district actions
Justice Wendell F Stafford in the District Supreme Court yesterday took under advisement the government suit to compel President Milton H Smith of the Loulaville and Washville Railroad to answer Interstate Commerce Commission questions on political expenditures. The defense argued the commission exceeded its power and that the questioned matter concerns campaign contributions, not expenditures. The ruling pauses as arguments continue on whether Congress empowered the commission to require such testimony. Separate probate notices list wills and codicils for Emma C Bache, Sacha P Woltz, and Frank Wesley Kern, with estates valued from about 1,450 to 2,810 dollars and various inheritances and executors named. Additional filings include a personal injury claim by Fannie Victoria Jonas and a reappointment in juvenile court as Judge Latimer takes vacation.
