Delays Bread Law Bill In House Committees
The House Ways and Means Committee postponed action on the Rainey bill to repeal duties on mixed flour after defeating a motion to delay. Rainey cited the national bakers convention call in Salt Lake City for a 19 cent bread price and alleged bread trusts exist in the United States. He argued Spanish war tax removal on mixed flour would lower bread costs.

District Court News From Yesterday in the District Supreme Court
A police court clash over Henry G. Southwick of Southwick Shops led to a plea of not guilty and a request for a jury trial. Attorneys sought delays while the judge set a later date if a certificate of unavailability was provided. Separate probate actions involved Louis Brandt’s will caveat and a contested will attack by Sophie Hobey, with new issues framed by the court. Additional cases include injuries from a street car collision, a running board fall from a car, a truck accident, and petitions for executorship and administration in multiple estates.

Troop No. 1 of Boy Scouts, Bridge Town, returned home aboard the Achoonet Walter Johnson after a multi‑day visit. The House post office committee approved Representative Harrisons resolution to issue a special stamp for the Gulfport exposition centenary.
