Open cars issue to be studied by Washington Public Utilities Commission
The Public Utilities Commission postponed action on open street cars until spring after receiving a letter from Washington Railway and Electric Company noting all open cars are in use. Complaints of standing passengers should be addressed next season. Capital Traction was not affected as it uses similar open car numbers. The letter warned that adding open cars is costly and could lead to abandonment if burdens rise, though passengers prefer open cars.
