Utilities Fully Taxed Gas Firms Protest Increase
Washington and Georgetown Gas Light companies face higher assessments after discovery that service mains and meters were previously untaxed. Assessor Griffin reports omitted property, including $1,030,000 for Washington and $1, etc., to be reassessed for several years. Companies expect protests at the Board of Equalization and Review after July act governs personal and realty taxes plus mains.
