Stockmen ask U S to fix corn prices
Chicago August 10 resolutions adopted by the Chicago Livestock Exchange urge the Federal government to fix a minimum price of 75 cents and a maximum of $1 a bushel for corn to secure adequate livestock feed and acreage. The measures also seek exemption from the draft for farmers and feeders proving active production adding to meat supply. The proposed price bands target 1917 and 1918 corn, arguing current costs deter fattening cattle hogs and sheep and cause premature marketings.
