Taft Heads West in Private Car for Midwest Tour
President Taft began a journey into the middle West last night at 7 o'clock aboard the private car Olympia attached to a regular Pennsylva nia train bound for Buffalo. He left the White House in a hurry, exchanging riding gear for street clothes as rain set in, with Capt Butt at the wheel and a demonstration at the station. Secretary Knox and Rep Alexander accompanied him as far as Pittsburgh, then to Cincinnati with the German ambassador and others, while talks of speeches and policy moves were anticipated for the trip.
