True Love of God Emphasized by Hale at Unitarian Service
Rev Edward Everett Hale urged a close communion with the Maker over ritual worship, contrasting true love of God with pagan and ceremonial worship. He argued prayer should broaden life, not merely beg, urging all to know and love God, and to live with greater purpose through daily acts and understanding.
