Titanic Testimony Sheds Light On Mount Temple Sinking
Surviving officers and witnesses from Toronto to Sir John NB recall the Titanic disaster amid testimony on lifeboats and rescue efforts. Lowe describes freeing four men, steering details, and a pistol claim while pilots dispute passenger accounts. Mount Temple docking and ship positions are debated as investigators press for clarity on the final voyage.
Titanic disaster sighting feud swirls from Mount Temple claims
Senator Smith received a telegram from Dr. F C Quitzman of Toronto saying Mount Temple was near the Titanic as it sank and that lifeboats were lowered. John Mlynark and daughter told in Toledo they heard chains and a boat being lowered. Mount Temple captain denies the tale, saying he was six miles away and arrived after the tragedy ended. Dr Quitzman plans to testify in St John New Brunswick.
