The Washington Post reports a broad stock market advance led by Union Pacific and the Pennsylvania bond issue, with transactions reaching highs not seen since the earlier downturn. The market strengthened as risk assets recovered, aided by renewed investment interest and a suspension of a large Wall Street commission dealing in speculation for the decline.
