The police department announced strict enforcement of Sunday closing laws for saloon bars. To be a bona fide hotel guest in public places, patrons must meet hotel guest criteria, not merely seek a meal as a sandwich is often misinterpreted as a meal. Police note previous views by Police Judge James Pugh and Assistant Corporation Counsel on liquor sales on Sundays, suggesting potential tighter observance if his opinions remain.
