American Experts See Clear Path for Germany Plan
Paris April 18 American members of expert committees on Germany praised the reparations commission for advancing work toward implementing their conclusions. They foresee no major trouble funding a 100 million dollar loan in the United States and 75 million in London with 25 million from continental Europe, provided politics do not mix with finance. They expect the present Reich government to push the report but doubt a new Reichstag would be as cooperative. They foresee limited French resistance to a transfer committee moving German currency into foreign funds, noting insufficient funds would thwart any voting. Interest grows over who will chair the transfer committee, with speculation about Herbert Hoover, though officials avoid naming candidates.
