Denial by Blackburn and his promises to clients
Greensboro April 18 special to The Washington Post reports the Wheat Court session where Blackburns attorneys introduced witness testimony supporting their defense while the prosecution pressed indictments. Key testimonies touched on payments and efforts to influence departments and courts, with Krider and Yerkes testifying to payments and possible settlements, and Frank Eadieman’s retainer story challenged by cross examination. The defense then rested, Blackburn admitting prior appearances for Dinkins and Quarls in federal courts but denying work before Washington departments. The case then headed for a jury verdict anticipated Friday.
