Special to The Washington Post. Hart’s name withdrawn and Funkhouser appointed Roanoke postmaster by President Roosevelt to replace Samuel F. Hoge. Funkhouser, Augusta County native, moved to Roanoke twenty years ago and has long been active in Republican politics. He has served as a clerk in a local furniture store for sixteen years. Hart’s nomination was withdrawn after opposition charges.
