Oblates Plan House of Studies Near Catholic University
Father Fallon announced the Oblate Fathers will buy fifteen acres opposite the Catholic University to build a house of studies for advanced scholastics and a novitiate. The move follows the Waggaman financial collapse and signals closer ties with the university, which has raised $100,000 this scholastic year and received $97,000 in papal collections. A May 3 archbishop and trustees meeting will address undergraduate openings this autumn as the Oblates enter Baltimore.
