Commissioners Favor Abandoning Potomac and McCormick Schools
City commissioners endorsed Chief Belt's plan to abandon the Potomac and McCormick school buildings citing dilapidation and safety concerns. They cannot force closure but urge the Board of Education to secure new buildings or reallocate students. Funds for repairs are unavailable, and the fate of the campuses depends on future Board actions.
