Authorities seek Ed Turner, her husband, believed culprit. Coroner's jury heard testimony from Atlanta youths who accompanied the couple. Evidence points to jealousy as motive.

Special toans Washingtonuts Allentown Pa April 2 A ferocious rooster attacked three year old Walter Wieand grandson of Obediat Becker superintendent of the mission leaving him with severe gashes about the head and face. The boy mistook the bird for an Easter gift and tried to pick it up as it flew into the yard during a rescue mission investigation.
Report from the steamer Harry T. Inge arriving in New Orleans states Port Livingstone in Honduras was captured by Nicaraguans on March 28. Four Honduran soldiers were killed and the garrison numbered about 200. Honduras later attempted a recapitalization with about 100 reinforcements but failed.
A. B. Roosevelt of New York, cousin of the President, has secured an option on the Bullion gold mine in Deadwood South Dakota. He will dispatch an expert to report on the property, said to be backed by a syndicate of eastern financiers. The Bullion mine lies near Holy Terror and is regarded with interest by mining men in the hills.
Complete unofficial returns from the Michigan Fifth Congressional District primary show Gerrit J. Diekema of Holland leading Huntley Russell of Grand Rapids by a 794 vote majority. The results came in April 2 from Grand Rapids.
Congressman H T Rainey of Illinois reports eight days at the Panama Canal Zone and claims the commissary system there is mismanaged and possibly graft ridden. He says meat deteriorates on arrival, pricing for a 30 cent meal costs $1 65, and stewards aim for profits of 50 to 360 a week. He asserts subordinates handle details and calls for a formal investigation into the allegedly unsafe foods and inflated charges.
A public exchange reveals Harriman alleging Roosevelt asked him to travel to Washington to aid fundraising for the 1904 campaign. Roosevelt denies the claim, calling it a willful untruth and stating he never requested Harriman to raise money for the presidential effort.
In Philadelphia on April 2 Raymond Kane aged six was killed by a loaded shotgun held by Albert Otto aged twelve. The boys in the cellar believed someone was entering the house when Otto fetched the gun. Kane sought to play and Otto tried to unload but the weapon discharged, blowing off the top of the boy’s head. Otto was arrested.
Victoria Texas April 2 Felix Powell convicted in the 1905 killing of Mrs A J Conditt and her four children was hanged here today in the presence of about 3000 spectators who had come on excursions to witness the execution.
Representative Edgar C Ellis reports graft concerns in Panama Isthmus operations. He cites high prices in commissaries, overpriced shoes, and poorly managed storage and meat handling. Ellis predicts ships will pass a Panama Canal in eight years, costing 510 million dollars, with army control rather than private contracts.
Nassau April 2 The northwest gale forced the steamer Blucher to sea with many passengers ashore as it raged on. Crew member John Albert Moburn was badly crushed while helping women avoid being swept overboard. Twenty nine passengers in a glass bottom boat narrowly escaped as the boat splashed and washed ashore safely. The Colonia was battered and a steam pipe burst causing confusion. engineers and women passengers suffered shock. Speaker Cannon and Congressmen Olcott Sherman and Tawney visited Nassau Parliament and were thanked for the escape. Marooned travelers, scantily dressed, found a sudden temperature drop and wore sweaters or bathing suits as underclothes.
Florence April 2 Marquis Bindo Perozzi de Medici a cavalry lieutenant and noted sportsman was found dead in his bed by his valet. He died by his own hand with a revolver at age twenty nine. His mother, widow Edith Story formerly of Boston, was informed.
Oyster Bay voted by a 500 plurality for licenses with the village majority at eighty five. Charles Palater won the supervisor race over William H. Jones as the town’s political tension peaking at a mass meeting alleging President Roosevelt’s stance on liquor and the license issue remained unconfirmed.
Boston April 2 The Cape Cod Construction Company’s single bid of 311,990,000 for the Cape Cod to New York ship canal across Cape Cod was accepted by the canal company, pending joint board approvals. The firm is led by August Belmont, William Barclay Parsons, John B McDonald, and Dewitt C Flanagan and the canal is planned about eight to nine miles long with an estimated two and a half years to complete.
In Atlanta in April, Southern Railway officers and employes plan a 200000 hospital to honor the late Samuel Spencer president of the road. Funds mostly come from subscriptions, with J P Morgan reportedly contributing 10000. Originally a monument at the terminal station was to be funded but will be redirected to the hospital fund.
In Stroudsburg Pennsylvania on April 2 detectives prepared a blacklist of about fifty men reputed to have intemperate drinking habits. County Detective John B Deckert instructed hotelkeepers and bartenders to refuse liquor sales to these individuals. The Meense court discussed liquor law violations by hotel and saloon operators and approved the blacklist as policy.
Charles Mykoly of Shreveport La described as a sailor was held on $1,000 bail on a charge of taking a bath in a country home at Deport Lane and Riverside Drive. Police pursued after a ladder and broken window incident, Mykoly forced to dress and ushered to West End Hotel before being taken to the 162d Street station and jailed overnight. Russian Bugs at Auction at Sipan’s today with Hekimian collection pieces up for sale.
Secretary Brown seeks halt to bombardment of Amapala where Bonilla is cornered. Nicaragua rejects Brown’s intervention claim and vows continued shelling. Brown reports from La Union and ships are ordered to Amapala. Zelaya’s wife drives Nicaraguan army morale as fighting shifts to the Pacific coast.
Fire alarms sounded on Broadway near Forty second street as a blaze started in the baggage room of the Hotel Saranac. Patrons fled by two fire escapes with minor damage reported. One female employee sustained a non serious injury and was treated. News records describe quick extinguishment and safety checks following the incident.
The Washington Post reports a heated exchange after Edward H. Harriman published a letter alleging Roosevelt asked for a campaign fund of 250000 and sought to appoint Depew as ambassador to France. Roosevelt answered with a cabinet-backed, chronological rebuttal citing Harriman’s letters to Sherman from October.
