Twenty Years On Blackwell's Island and a Sister's Love
Sophia Humphrey, once vivacious and educated, is confined at Bloomingdale Asylum and later Blackwell's Island after her brother and sister move away. The tale recalls her youth, the love triangle with William Wetherfield, the suspicion of theft of family property, and her gradual decline into madness while maintained by a sparse, dim room and a faded hope of reunion.
