Insane Wanderer Rescued From Train Tracks Near Washington
Dan Lents an unstable man long confined at his brother Thomas Lents home escaped Tuesday afternoon and wandered onto the E and I railroad tracks north of Washington. He was found by Robert Burdal this morning standing calmly on the track as an approaching train neared. He was pulled to safety before harm could occur. Police Chief Geyer took him to his brother’s home for confinement. He is described as harmless with a blank mind and poor comprehension. Previously treated at the Southern Insane hospital, he was released to relatives after treatment proved ineffective.
