Terre Haute Ind March 27 There is good reason to believe Indiana s 10 000 bituminous miners will avert a strike as locals vote on an operators ultimatum The vote favors suspending work at end of current contract year next Tuesday night The Monday conference will seek settlement The sticking point is the demand that no contract changes be made except the new price per ton while excluding expert firing provisions urged by miners president Hargrove denounces this as bad faith affecting only a few mines in Clinton district
