Maher Dead After Illness and Injury Near Cannberrg
Maher a well known B&O conductor died at home after a period of illness following injuries to his chest and head while switching near Cannberrg. Doctors attributed grippe like illness to his death and insurers noted a $2000 policy. He was 35 with a wife and four children and survived by siblings and a sister Bridget. He belonged to St Simon church and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Burial plans not yet set. Also notice the death of Ruth erford Willing G Rutherford aged 26 at home near the county.

Deaths and burial notices from Oak Grove cemetery
Oak Grove cemetery of consumption. He had been sick for some time. He was a son of Mark Rutherford and is survived by his parents. Burial at Oak Grove cemetery Thursday afternoon at three o'clock. M. H. Ragsdale, of Washington City, formerly of Worthington, died last Friday. He was a brother of S. H. Ragsdale of this city, and was formerly a prominent Second District Republican who in 1860s opposed J. H. O'Neal for Congress. For several years he had been a clerk in the pension department at Washington City.
