Town officials review uniform street and sidewalk grade plans for the addition. Concrete walks and shade trees are planned as part of the project with distribution of lots and city limits under consideration. Howard Williams aged sixty six and Madonna G Wardlow aged forty eight are noted in a separate personal item.
Sullivan Indiana June 21 1907 John C Chaney announces preliminary examinations for cadet positions at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Applicants must meet age height and education requirements and will be graded by faculty from Vincennes University the State University and Union Christian College. Top scorer at Vincennes will be named principal with alternates next best. if principal passes the government exam the cadet appointment goes to him on March 1 1908.
President Smail declares in an interview that workers will push agitation for government ownership if justice is not gained in their current struggle. Strike benefits for those out will not begin until July 1, and messages filed in San Francisco are being mailed to other sending points.
