Washington High School Holds 26th Commencement at Opera House
The Washington High School class of 1905, 15 girls and 9 boys, graduated in a modest ceremony at the Opera House. Speaker William Lowe Bryan praised education as a social duty and urged graduates to choose a lifelong occupation. Diplomas were presented by Dr. Henry Gers as Miss Pauline Saford led the valedictory.

Sophomore Team Defeats Freshmen In Big Baseball Win
The Sophomore baseball team defeated the Freshmen 23 to 18 on Thursday afternoon at the athletic field. Battery was Welch and Smead for the Sophomores while Luther Johnson John Sanford and Holder worked for the Freshmen. A second game was scheduled for the afternoon.

Death of Washington patrolman Ben Ledgerwood
Benjamin Ledgerwood a Washington night patrolman died of consumption at age twenty eight at his father’s home on Robinson street. He had suffered for months and moved here from Martin county with his parents. Survived by his parents and several siblings including a brother Frais who died recently in Michigan City. Burial set for Sunday at South Martin Cemetery in Martin county.
