Woman Nearly Burned Alive In Gasoline Stove Blast
Mrs. William Cleary, 28, wife of William Cleary of Loogootee, suffered extreme burns when gasoline ignited in a stove at her East Sixth Street home. Neighbors J.J. Akers and Andy Tidd helped pull off burning clothing as flames engulfed her. She died later that night. her three-year-old daughter Helen recounted that gasoline clothes caused the disaster.
