A wild B and O S W engine roared from a roundhouse and crashed into a passenger train near Cincinnati. The impact wrecked a Pullman coach and injured Thames Hooker while several cars splintered. conductor Frank Ladingan and others escaped. No engineer was aboard when the runaway began.
Mrs. Catherine Lauhead, a pioneer resident of Knox and Daviess counties, died at her Edwardsport home at age ninety. Funeral services were held today at 2:30 p.m. in Edwardsport. burial followed in the town cemetery.
Purdue University agricultural instructors Dr. W King of Maitland Massachusetts and H P Miller of Sunbury Ohio will conduct farm institutes in Daviess County next week. Lectures cover horse care road building sheep management and farm organization with sessions in Washington Loogootee and Alfordsville and include talks by Owen McCord Dr W L Evans D E Elliott Pillman Jackson and W Lavelle.
The Petersburg man Lory and defendant Tiglow faced two years of court action ending in a final dismissal. The motion to quash the indictment charging Huckle stopping theft and conspiracy was sustained and the case removed from the Peterburg docket.

Engineer Frank McWhorter of Chillicothe was badly injured and William Schlmvor of Evansville Ind was slightly hurt. The operator at Nowle, the fingerman, and the night crew were notified. The Washington bound train leaves about 2 oclock nightly.
