Raymond McKee 22 of Paris Kentucky died Friday night at Loogootee from injuries after attempting to board a moving freight train. He fell beneath the wheels losing an arm and a leg while two companions also tried to board despite a warning from station operator Mrs Williams.
Mrs Laura McCafferty of northeast Eleventh Street fell at home while working and broke her left arm between the elbow and wrist. Her right arm shielded the escape, and doctors do not expect a severe outcome.

Charles Crawford of Odon hired a team from Matthewson and Edmonson of Elnora to drive to Plainville for a day outing. Driver Grover Matthewson accompanied Crawford. The pair split after hitching the horses and planned to reconvene, but the animals disappeared. Police notified and searches fail to locate Crawford or the horses. A witness reported seeing two horses hitched without a rig that matched the described team. Matthewson and Edmonson report no word from Crawford or the missing team.
Paris A Hastings newspaper business manager receives Governor Hunly's notification of appointment as Indiana delegate to the National Reciprocity Conference in Chicago on August 16 and 17. The letter notes attendees will include traders, stockmen, manufacturers and affairs men from across the country, stressing national importance. Hastings is urged to attend.

John Paul Jones era pistols owned by Charles F. Artes of Evansville are in a mahogany case. The fourteen inch pistols bear Dyntel Cross and Co. marks and sixteen inch barrels with steel flintlocks. They were presented to Artes by Gen. George Minder, once in a New York jewelry house, now customs appraiser. Sherman Goodman through attorney Alvin Padgett files divorce suit alleging his wife Mary E Goodman engaged in improper relations with another man.
Report details an unprovoked Friday night assault on Robert McCreary by Thomas Cochran near Carnahan farm. McCreary, struck with a two by four, sustained head wounds and a severe scalp cut. Cochran was arrested, charged with assault with intent to kill, and bailed for a preliminary examination.
