Mrs. George Weddle of the Southside walked in her sleep and was found in a graveyard. Emanuel Gates and others speculate the incident tied to a letter scheme aimed at delaying divorce. Mrs. Weddle admits writing the letter and receiving five dollars as part of a plan by her husband to tarnish her reputation and block a divorce. The handwriting allegedly matches the court records.
Miss Mary Wilson married Christy J. McElroy in a ceremony led by Rev. J. W. Baker with Deputy Clerk Will Waiters present. The couple, from Eloora and Wheatland, will reside in Wheatland where the groom works in a store. A second wedding followed at 7:30 pm as Miss Mary Wade wed Thomas Sherman at Rev. Baker's residence.
A young man named Sherman collected papers on Tuesday for a marti license but left unsure how to complete the process. He was suspected of inspecting local family pedigrees during the interim.
Harry Davis and Ben Lubhers were arrested late Tuesday afternoon by Will Borders of B. & CO. SeW. policemanp and tried this morning before Mayo Clark. They were fined and costs of ten dollars each and both sent to jail.
Christy J. McElroy and Mary Wilson, Thomas Sherrosn and Mary Wade received marriage licenses in a local filing. The notices confirm the pairs and document the civil formalities in the public record.
Washington streets look brighter as daily refuse is moved using galvanized iron cans placed at street corners. The plan, praised as excellent, takes credit to Councilman Hopline who started pushing the cleanup approach when he joined the council.

The Ladies Matinee Club hosted by Mrs William McConnell at her North Meridian Street home welcomed ten new members. The program featured selections from Midsummer Night Dream Nocturne Beloved Beaus and Red Red Rose plus piano and vocal solos and a Ladies Quartette Voices of the Woods. A biographical sketch of the composers was read by Mrs Delos Jackson.
As administrator for Nancy J. Walker J G receives a check for 1004.60 from the EB I railroad company, a payment offset by a judgment against the railroad company for injuries sustained by Mrs. Walker.
Will Rath of the West End was arrested Tuesday night by B and O police officer Will Borders for stealing coal from a B and O spur. Borders says the theft has long been ongoing. Rath appeared before Mayor Clark this morning and pleaded not guilty. He was bound over to the circuit court in 8100. failing to post bond he was jailed.
A music group was formed Tuesday evening at Roy Medcalfe's Pearl Street home. The orchestra of mandolins violins pianos and other instruments elected Miss Mary McCormick secretary treasurer and Roy Medcalfe director. First rehearsal set for Wednesday at Miss McCormick's Walauti Street home.
The season’s biggest farce, My Wife, plays at Spink's Opera House tonight. A new plot pleases theatregoers with lively scenes, costumes and music. Comedians White Hal Stephen and Harry Linton headline the cast, delivering broad merriment from start to finish.
Eight students at Indiana University have scarlet fever with no serious cases. A strict quarantine remains to prevent spread. Officials suspect exposure occurred on a train returning after spring vacation. James W. Fosler’s alumni trustee term expires next June and five candidates are named, including W. F. Axtell of this city. Elections occur during commencement exercises.

The Clapper hotel on East Third street run by Jas E Bennet gains a blessing as rooms are repapered. Dr and Mrs C C Moore depart for Owensboro for a trip.
Dr. Moore plans a new practice while Gaye Will Ferris leaves his post at Elswick and Morgan for a fresh start. George Fiyne resigns as area shifts. Mrs. C. E. Barnes returns home after attending her mother Nora Stephens funeral. Frank Childs and Hen Tokson, noted fishermen, catch 42 fish at the Big Hole. Mayor Clark and Will Kiefer bring back 19 from Jeffersons pond, marking the season’s largest catches.
