Finney Charged With Receiving Stolen Property Before Justice Maxwell
J H Finney appeared before Justice Maxwell on a charge of receiving stolen property. He lacked counsel and represented himself after R S Mills failed to attend. Witnesses including C C Heacock City Marshal Pierce J T Evans M Schafer Mr Cramer J Clapper and M Wharton testified for both sides. Parker Eanes described his story as previously told to emige Ryan, corroborated by Marshall Pierce. Finney was fined 20 dollars and costs, and he gave notice of appeal. Wharton posted 100 dollars bond to await the next term.

Death of Chas. Todd in South Washington
Chas Todd died at his home in South Washington this morning at 8:30 from consumption. He was about 36, born in Indiana, lived in Iowa about 30 years, and leaves a wife and two children. He was an active A U W lodge member and a funeral is set for 2 o'clock tomorrow.

Collision In Ainsworth Involves Elmer Mason
Last night on a main street in Ainsworth Elmer Mason and his uncle W W Mason rode in a buggy when they collided with a wheelman who was racing two footmen. The wheelman hit by the bicycle was thrown about 12 feet injuring his arm as the Mason rig was damaged.
