Buffalo report on Leon F. Czolgosz found guilty of first degree murder for the September 6 shooting of President William McKinley. Trial lasted about eight hours over two days, with sanity rulings favoring the prosecution and sentencing set for Thursday at 2 p.m.

E G Richter who shot and killed James Thompson and wounded Sam England near Cornell Sunday is jailed in Pontiac and still talks of mobs and lynching. Officials note Richter has twice been confined in the Kankakee asylum and fear an insanity plea. England cannot recover.

Manila reports Senator Bacon of Georgia told a Camarines banquet that once the war ends the United States will extend to the Philippines the freedom as it exists in the United States.
New York report states Helen Bloodgood, 18, daughter of William Bloodgood, who had been missing since Thursday, was found yesterday at Ashing Ridge New Jersey. The reason for her disappearance was not disclosed.

About four hundred fifty workers are affected as the hoisting engine foundation, installed at a cost of forty thousand dollars, was damaged and moved. The Evening Tribune reports Swift Packing has bought Credits Commutation’s 41,000 of preferred stock in the Sioux City Stock Yards company, giving Swift control of the yards. A Chicago dispatch denies the claim.

The bill lists poker chips and an all night event at 4 am while classes are off. Wright, a strict Prohibitionist and psychology professor, may pursue the pranksters.
A Norfolk World-Herald dispatch reports two patients at the state insane hospital died in a Monday morning fire. Victor Casper of Schuyler perished after returning to his room and Jans Jasperson of Cheyenne Neb was found at a window as flames consumed the building. Firemen finally freed him but he died from burn injuries.
Princeton Illinois September 25 Charles A Hensel a young farmer six miles north of town was indicted by the Bureau county grand jury on a murder charge. He was arrested Monday night. Mrs Hensel died when a woodshed burned after she went there to fill a lamp with kerosene. The trunk only was recovered. Three weeks earlier she took out 4000 life insurance. Grand jury witnesses say Hensel predicted her death before the fire.
In Chicago a hazing prank at Morgan Park Military Academy led to Al bert Cobb being stabbed six times by James Etzler. Cobb, a New York 20 year old, was hospitalized in precarious condition. Dean Chase swore out the warrant for Etzler. Separately in Lake County, Helen Culver faced steep back tax assessments after she warned she would challenge the board.
Market notes from Chicago and East Buffalo detail hog receipts at 27 000 with price ranges from 5.00 to 7.30 per hundredweight for various hog classes. Cattle receipts about 6 500 with wide price bands for steers and other categories. Sheep and lambs show 30 000 receipts and assorted price ranges.
