Bethel Mennonite Church hosted guest day with 78 attendees including children. Three quilts and two comforters were displayed. a pot luck noon meal followed devotional led by Mrs. Orpha Gugel. A sextette performed. shoe drive collected 25 children’s pairs for the month.

Peggy Moore Celebrates Seventh Birthday With Friends
Peggy Moore, daughter of Mr and Mrs Jack Moore, celebrated her seventh birthday Tuesday September 17 with a wiener roast in Sunset Park for her Stewarts second grade class and other girl friends. Games were played and she opened many gifts as grandparents Mr and Mrs E J Blatter assisted with the party.

Public Invited to Forum at Y October 1
The public is invited to a forum at the YWCA Community room Tuesday evening October 1. Moderated discussions will cover Race Relations Civil Defense and Citizen Participation in Government. Moderators are Mrs. Robert Day Sperry Easter and Mrs. George Krogmeier. A 45 minute session will be followed by refreshment. Nonmembers may join. members should pay dues.

Washington County Farm Bureau Young Married Couples Meet
The club held a Saturday 7 p.m. dinner at Captain's Table to open membership to all young Farm Bureau members. Officers were elected with couples including Robert Friese Dick Wiley Wayne Gamon and Cletus Reed forming planning groups for the year. Gwyneth Jones and Jim Hess were named to offices for the coming year. An Employed Women's Lunch at the YWCA featured a Bridges Store style show with Ruth Bridges presenting ensembles coats hats gloves and handbags for the season. Mrs Aarold Stevens played during the event.
