A memorial service for Pvt Donald Howard McArtor 19 son of Elmer E. and Maude Howard McArtor will be held Sunday at 2 20 PM in Crawfordsville Presbyterian Church. Rev H N Poston will lead with Crawf ordsville post of the American Legion and its Auxiliary assisting. Donald born near Washington Sept 29 1925 attended Crawfordsville schools and earned a 1945 diploma from Crawfordsville High School where he was honorary president of his class. He joined the United States Army July 9 1944 trained at Camp Fannin Texas and went to Hawaii in December. He was killed April 23 1945 in action on Okinawa and is buried in the 7th Division cemetery overlooking the island. His parents two brothers and a sister survive along with other relatives.
