Choral Director Jesse Knight Named ACDA Southeast Iowa Chairman
Jesse M. Knight, vocal music director at Washington High School and minister of music at Washington Methodist church, is appointed by the American Choral Directors Association as chairman of the Southeast Iowa District. Knight holds degrees from Simpson College and the University of South Dakota and has 12 years of teaching experience. Tax bill written in just over 12 hours sparks criticism
Polk County Senator Gaudineer told the Engineers Club of Des Moines that the tax bill raising over 100 million dollars was drafted in a little more than 12 hours. Beulah Hangs Between Cuba and Gulf Threat to U.S.
UPI reports Hurricane Beulah, 85 mph winds and strengthening, rides toward western Cuba on a path that could trap it in the Yucatan Channel and push it into the Gulf of Mexico. Forecaster Joe Pelissier says once boxed in, the storm will likely make landfall with winds possible to 110 mph.
