John R. Guthrie, 53, died this morning at his home 623 North Seventh Avenue after an illness since Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial follows at Elm Grove with American Legion rites. Born October 13, 1908 in Washington County, he was a World War II veteran and painter. Survived by his mother Viola Guthrie Moothart of Washington.

Fall Camporee Set for October in Warhawk District
