Des Moines special agent Kuiinel of the FBI reports that in the first half of 1945 Iowa crime rose 11.8 percent from 1944, lower than Minnesota 16.1 percent and Nebraska 25 percent, with rape up 58.3 percent while murder fell 12.5 percent and negligent manslaughter dropped 81.5 percent.

Newton Doctor Unable To Pay Alimony Bill

Boy Denies He Started Riding at Eldora
Red haired James Patrick Galvin a 17 year old from Brooklyn New York wearing a firewagon red suit denied here on Wednesday that he led the August riot and escape of 179 boys from the Eldora state training school for boys. The escape triggered a long run of disturbances and investigations now underway at the school. Galvin was sent back here for possible re sentencing to a penal institution. His clothing was dyed red to help capture him if he escaped.
