Death of Ainsworth resident C R Stearns at 65
Charles R. Stearns 65 prominent Ainsworth resident died last night at his home after months of ill health. Funeral services set for Thursday at 3 PM at the Ainsworth Methodist church with a Masonic service at the grave. Survivors include his widow Florence and two children Miles C. Stearns and Mildred Stanvhens, plus four sisters. He served on the city council and school board and was active in local affairs. Born August 4, 1868 in Bellows Falls Vermont, he moved to Iowa in 1882 and settled in Ainsworth in 1890.

Funeral services for A Wheeler survivor of Civil War
Funeral services for A Wheeler the last Civil War survivor in the Ainsworth community were held at the Ainsworth Methodist church led by Rev J H Krenmyre of Sigourney. Burial followed in the Ainsworth cemetery with music by a quartet. Casket bearers were six World War I veterans. Ainworth Women’s Relief Corps attended and J G White post G A R represented.
