Iowa’s 1969 corn crop outlook raised to 749.715 million bushels from 737.006 million as August weather improves prospects. Yield per acre also increased to 59 bu, helping reach a near 12 percent rise though still below 1959 record. Five Boys Found Dead in Heat Tunnel at Epileptic Hospital
Five boys aged 13 to 15, missing from the Craig Colony and Hospital in SONYEA NY, were found dead in a heat tunnel on hospital grounds. Authorities say temperatures reached 140 to 150 degrees and suspect asphyxiation from heat. The victims entered through a kitchen basement window and wandered into a tunnel network. Names withheld until families are notified.

Zearing Woman Killed In Coor-Truck Crash
Blanche Reed 79 of Zearing died Friday when her car collided with a dump truck one mile northeast of Zearing on a county road. Her daughter-in-law Wama Mae Reed 57 of New Providence was seriously injured and underwent surgery at the county hospital in Nevada. Truck driver Donald Coate 23 of Nevada had minor injuries.
